#YOUDOYOUBOO

I remember having a conversation with Faye a while back and she just looked at me and said, “you do you boo…that is all that matters!” And so here i am following that advice and so thankful for a friend who could honor that in herself and in others.

I remember having a conversation with Faye a while back and she just looked at me and said, “you do you boo…that is all that matters!” And so here i am following that advice and so thankful for a friend who could honor that in herself and in others.

I’ve been reminded recently that I can totally follow the beat of MY OWN drum.

For way too long, what other said about me or how they felt about me being “me” impacted me way too much and it created a little storm within. I don’t think I even realized that it was happening until I really starting digging in deeper this past year.

So I had to dig deeper on what I am ok with and as my coach taught me, to “mind your own business”. And listen, that took a long minute!

Basically this meant that I needed to not look outside for approval or what someone liked or didn’t like about me but instead, be totally ok with the woman I am on all levels.

This also meant, not comparing myself to other women who I perceived to be more successful or more abundant but instead, to do what was best for me.

Easier said than done but I am doing it and finding my VOICE in the process!

It really is a beautiful thing!

And as I work with women for a variety of genres of photography — Entrepreneurial Headshot sessions, Celebrate Sessions and even Natural Light Nude sessions, one thing I always tell them is that they must stick to their aesthetic, and do what they feel comfortable with and I will follow their lead. I have heard from many women who love the nudes but could never see themselves there. That is ok. Others who want professional work only to represent their brand. Totally fine! Women who want to celebrate their life and everything they have accomplished and are open to all the possibilities. I’m all in with that, too!

You. Do. You.

Whatever that feels like. And in this case, of course, I talk about a session with me. But with life in general, I think that is such a vital thing if you want to grow and create and find self love and create self care for yourself.

I have found that this mantra has helped me find my own voice around my business and my life (even though on some days it may feel messy and splattered) because I am always going back to my #YouDoYouBoo statement in my own head. Or at least trying to. Again, not always perfect, but a work in progress and I am learning to be totally ok with that!

Someone says that they may not like the direction you are taking? It’s ok. I ask myself now, “what does YOUR intuition say?”

Own it. Be it.

Another voice says that you are ‘too much or too little of this or that’? AH WELL.. I now tell myself, “that is totally ok…#YOUDOYOUBOO…and if that makes you happy, then all is good.”

You. Do. You.

It is time to own who you are and mind your business.

Because what we focus on grows.

And I don’t know about you, but I want to focus on badassery, kindness, growth, abundance, balance, my new, beautiful normal and so much more. I am making a pledge this year to beat to my own drum without apology. You want to join me?

So are you ready to create the #YouDoYouBoo movement for yourself?

I can’t wait to see what happens when you commit to it! As always, message me and let me know how it goes!

xoxo
