Have I told you lately how much I LOVE working with my badass entrepreneurial women!!!?? Their stories inspire me and I am grateful for their own vulnerabilities they show every day! I met Lisa years ago when I needed a new stylist and I've been with her ever since! She's no stranger to my journey and I'm in awe of hers!
At my first hair appointment, I told her I wanted my haircut just like hers. She begins to tell me that that was not her own hair and proceeds to pull off a hair topper to show me what she wears every day due to her hair loss. In that moment, I knew she was a total badass and I was in love!
Over the years, I have seen her take class after class, increase her education so she could find the pot of gold which, for her, was a hair system she felt totally in alignment with and would personally be able to use herself so she could share her story and talent with others that were afraid of being seen due to their own hair loss.
That was her mission in life. Period.
A few months before her photoshoot with me, Lisa, owner of Lisa Ferestad Hair Solutions found her end of the rainbow and started specializing in CNC custom hair replacement!
And what I still love about her is that she is forever open about her own story of hair loss and how getting her own "new hair" changed the way she showed up in her life again...more confident, happier and most important, she was back to being a ham in front of the camera like she used to be when she was younger!
I noticed the changes in her when she showed up. The woman in front of my camera that day with the long, gorgeous mane of hair was not the same woman I saw when I photographed her "before" a few weeks before. She had an added confidence, swagger and smile! She was SHINING! It was beautiful!!
In Lisa’s words … her super personal, beautiful story —
“I thought I had made peace with having fine and thinning hair my entire life, but when my scalp started to show and I started asking my husband to “Photoshop” my hair back into pictures, my insecurities led me on a journey to find a solution that ultimately revealed a new career.
My Mom tells the story of being afraid to send her “bald little girl” to her first day of kindergarten, so she cut my hair into a short bob and since then, for virtually most of my life, my hairstyle was set in stone. I have memories of wrapping my bath towel around my head when I was young and not taking it off, knowing now that the towel felt like the “hair” I had longed for.
This creates an emotion that a lot of the women that I work with have in common. When we lose our hair, we lose part of ourselves. The first top piece I wore was synthetic and looked like doll hair, but to me it was an upgraded version of the towel and I wore it with pride. Having “coverage” for the first time gave me a sense of security that I was looking for.
It has taken many years for me to find a solution that made me feel whole again and that solution is a CNC by Cesare Ragazzi. The system is bonded to my growing hair, I wear it for 4 weeks at a time and I am able to sleep, shower and style my hair, as if it was my own growing hair. The system has become part of me, allowing me to stand tall. I now love looking in the mirror and am filled with confidence .
Having the photo session with Rupa was a wonderful experience, I felt beautiful and comfortable. I truly enjoyed having my picture taken and loved the results. I take care of others in my job and rarely make time for myself, so it felt amazing to be pampered and taken care of the entire day. Rupa made me feel very comfortable and I enjoyed every moment. The end result gave me beautiful photos that I can use in my business and personal life."
So yeah, have I told you lately how much I LOVE working with my badass entrepreneurial women!!!?? 💖👑💖
